“The Bariatric Care Program”

All bariatric operations and post operative care / follow ups will fall under the bariatric care program provided by our bariatrics team.

This cost involved with The Bariatric Care Program will not differ depending on the specific operation that your bariatric surgeon and you decide upon.

Our practice aims to be honest and fair with our pricing and there will be no un-informed hidden costs.

Our friendly admin team will provide you with a quote once you have decided on having surgery and where to have it.

This quote will cover the cost of The Bariatric Care Program which includes:

  • The operation itself
  • Post operative care and all additional structured follow ups over a 2-year period and beyond:
    • Surgeon follow up and review
    • Regular follow up with our clinical nurse and dieticians to ensure that you are still on track with your weight loss and recovery from surgery

Other additional costs

  • Anaesthetist fees – we work closely with our experienced anaesthetists to provide the best operative and post operative experience for you. They will provide you with a quote for the anaesthetic’s fees once you have consented for surgery. These fees are partially rebated by Medicare.
  • You will be required to purchase and follow a very low caloric diet (VLCD) for 2 weeks prior to your surgery – this will help to shrink the left side of the liver to expose the stomach aid surgical safety

Privately Insured Patients

What to expect to be covered with private health insurance:

  • Health fund rebate for the performed bariatric procedures
  • Health fund rebate for anaesthetist fees

Additional health fund costs:

  • Excess fee for individual hospitals (this may vary depending on your individual health fund coverage)
