Obesity
What is obesity?
Obesity relates to excess body fat composition that can seriously affect health and wellbeing. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), obesity has become a worldwide epidemic with Western countries like Australia, US and the UK being most affected.
We now know that BMI (body mass index) over 30 can become a serious risk to health and projected life span. The disease in itself can potentiate many other obesity related diseases (i.e. type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnoea to name a few), while impacting on individual’s self-esteem, financial and social life.
